BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within days there's a noticeable improvement in those persistent lines between the brows, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

A million people have been treated with FDA-approved BOTOX® Cosmetic. There's only one BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Botox Treatment Questions

What causes frown lines between the brows?
The lines that appear between your brows usually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. As skin becomes less elastic over time, repeated frowning can result in those moderate to severe lines between your brows.

How does Boxtox® work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses which reduces the movement of muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the frown lines begin to fade.

What is the treatment like?
The treatment is quick and minimally invasive. Dr. Honeycutt makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause frown lines between your brows. She will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, though she may choose to numb the area with a cold back prior to injecting. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief - most patients compare it to the bug bite. You may resume normal activity immediately.

How soon will I see a difference?

Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. The most common side effects include headache, repiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea.

Other side effects include pain and redness where the medicine is injected, pain in the face and muscle weakness. These effects generally occur within the first week and usually go away on their own.
